Construction has commenced on this exciting $39.7 million affordable rental housing apartment building at 99 Tram Road, Doncaster.

When completed in April 2011, the building will feature a mix of 1BR, 2BR and 3BR units, including six units modified for people with a disability.

Located close to the Doncaster shopping centre, schools, hospitals, other services and facilities, 99 Tram Road will provide a much-needed, long-term affordable rental option for working singles and families.

Project Developer Loddon Mallee Housing Services Ltd has contracted architects ML Design and builders Galvin Construction to create a stylish, modern apartment building that will enhance the neighbourhood and ensure the privacy and security of residents and neighbours alike.

The bulk of the funding for this housing project has come via the Federal Government’s Nation Building Economic Stimulus Plan.

The project will generate 100 jobs for local tradespeople as well as provide significant economic flow-on effects to other industries and sectors.
